What we do

Good governance

At Sisdev we extract and prepare key messages on the rights and obligations of the citizens from relevant statutes Disseminate these messages through various media and platforms (traditional and religious institutions etc.) Engage the political parties on the need to entrench issue-based politics

Activities of Good governance

We raise societal consciousness/awareness about the rights and obligations of leaders and citizens, we also entrench/inculcate the culture of issue-based politics in the society, in addition, SISDev is engaged in increasing the number of youths, women and vulnerable groups in democratic processes.

Peace & Security

SISDev is engage in the promotion of peaceful co-existence among various groups in the society, development of new a concept and structure of an ‘integrated security system’ in our communities, and raising the public consciousness on security and finally promoting the ideals of community policing

Activities of Peace & Security

Conduct a baseline assessment of the root causes of religious disharmony Identify and document wrong narratives that leads to religious intolerance. SISDev supports the implementation of existing strategies for countering these wrong narratives and Facilitate/Advocate the establishment of traditional truth and reconciliation mechanisms.

Energy and Environment

SISDev has entrenched strategies to inculcate the culture of environmental care in the society, popularize renewable and alternative energy technologies, promotion of sanitation and hygiene practices in the society, promotion of environmental protection and conservation of biodiversity in the society, in addition to engagement of relevant authorities in implementing environmental policies and laws at all levels

Activities for Energy and Environment

Conduct of sensitization activities in various media platforms Commission musical, poetry and writing competition on the environment Create and promote environmental conservation associations. Popularize and disseminate the use of fuelwood efficient stoves in our communities

Prof. Abdul Qadir Ibrahim

CHAIRMAN BOARD OF TRUSTEES

He is a Polymer Chemist by training, an Environmentalist by vocation & socio-environmental activist by disposition.  He has almost 40 years of experience in financial, material and human resources management in the university system; 20 in top management. He he had been embedded in community service and civil society activities.

Amb Dr. Aisha Laraba Abdullahi

MEMBER

With over 30 years of multidisciplinary experience in academic, political & diplomatic spheres. She has experiences in International Affairs, Diplomatic Relations, Humanitarian Affairs Coordination and Management, Democratic Governance Strengthening, Organic Chemistry, Qualitative & quantitative research, and organizational development.

Jummai Bappah is a member of the National Institute   for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru. She has significant experience working in Development. She has worked on various projects including those on Community Development, Skills development and Governance. She has worked in various roles including Gender and Social Inclusion Specialist, Capacity Building Specialist and Social Development Adviser

Prof. Ahmed Chinade Abdullahi

MEMBER

Senior Lecturer & Head of Dept. Environmental Management Technology of ATBU Bauchi. B.Sc. in Agriculture (Soil Science) from UniMaid, PGD in Management Studies from BUK. He also has MSc in Environment & Development from University of Manchester, a PhD in Environment & Development from National University of Malaysia. He specializes in environmental soil science, EIA, Sustainability Science, Climate Change and Disaster Management. He consults for local & International Development Agencies like the World Bank, EU & UNDP.

Prof Ahmed Sabo

MEMBER

He obtained a Ph.D. in Environmental MGT from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi; M.Sc. in Environmental Management from University of Derby, U.K and First Class B.Sc. Degree in Botany from University of Maiduguri. He has over 20 years of teaching & research experience in Dept. of Environmental Management ATBU Bauchi & has academic publications in local & International journals of Environmental Management .

Titi Yakubu

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Titi Yakubu holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable International Development, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management and is an alumnus of international Fellowship Program. She is a seasoned organization development practitioner with over 29 years experience in public service, development and humanitarian operations management with focus on economic empowerment of women, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene. Other areas of special interest to her heart include livelihood, food security, resilient and integrated programming, early recovery and transitional interventions.
